Monticello, AR - Facing off for the second time this season, the Monticello Lady Billies improved their overall record to 4-1, 2-1 (4A-8 Conference), with a 11-0 victory over the visiting Drew Central Lady Pirates.
After a three up, three down first inning, Monticello was able to get on the board after a three run bottom half of the first. Anna Wright got things started with a line drive to center, followed by Emilee Lawson advanced Wright after being hit by a Alexus Jones pitch. Baleigh Jackson advances both runners to load the bases after also being hit by a pitch.
Wright scored after Jaye Pace walked to put Monticello up 1-0. Monticello closed out the inning scoring two more runs after Lawson and Lauren Stanley scored on consecutive passed balls.
Logan Fletcher gave up her first hit of the game after a single by Alexus Jones, however Fletcher retired the next three batters to close out the top of the second.
Monticello added three runs in the bottom of the second, three in the bottom of the third, and two in the bottom of the fourth to close the game with a 11-0 victory.
Logan Fletcher pitched five innings, allowing two hits and no runs.
Drew Central pitcher Alexus Jones pitched four innings, allowing nine hits, and allowing 11 runs. Jones also led the Lady Pirates in hitting with their only two hits of the game.
Anna Wright and Chaney Scott led Monticello in hitting with two hits each. Elise McDuff, Baleigh Jackson, and Scott recorded doubles, and Scott also recorded a triple.
